Create another object and animate it cross the surface the object. Then pick that object as your deform object. Basically you select the faces that you want to mirror to and pass them to the modifier. The limitations are that it must be a tri-mesh, the modifier should not be instanced if you use a mirror node, and for best results make sure your selection does not cross the mirror plane. |
