Plugin Update: Modelling / Animation
Changes for v2.5.7.0 are:
- Brushes now affect guides precisely when 'Show Safe Frame' is on in viewports

Joe Gunn has released 3 material libraries containing shaders that he has built up over the years while doing VFX work.
The Vray Car Shader Toolkit contains 20 different shaders for plastics, metals, glass, headlights, tires and more.
The Mental Ray Car Shader Toolkit contains 20 different Arch & Design shaders for plastics, metals, glass, headlights, tires and more.
The VFX Material Library contains 12 VFX related materials/maps for things like particles, FumeFX, displacements and more.
Joe's material libraries are available for Max 2010 to 2015 and cost $10.95.

Plugin News: New plugins form VIZPARK
VIZPARK have announced two new plugins that have just entered beta testing: Ultramap and Material Manager. You can apply to be a beta tester at the links below.
Ultramap will free patterns from the chains of square tiles. With the pattern editor, you can create any shape and virtually unlimited patterns for use in Max or game engines. Ultramaps' pattern editor makes creating patterns easy. Create any shape by simply drawing lines along the edges of your tile. You can modify existing patterns or create entirely new ones. Each shape / tile can have it's own map assigned, for example VP Crossmap to randomize bitmaps within each repeated tile, or procedural maps for even further freedom.
Material Manager is a tool for managing materials within Max in ways never possible before. Material presets can now have attributes that can easily be filtered with the integrated attribute filters. Just select the combination of attributes you need and the preset manager will show you the materials that fit these attributes. The Material Manager also handles bitmaps in a completely new way. It manages the bitmaps and places all material bitmaps in a single library database. This ensures that bitmaps are available when materials are needed. On top of this you can use the wild-card search with instant results, change and edit attributes, add comments, rate presets, create favorites and much more.

New Plugin: Objects
This plugin allows you to create stereoscopic camera rigs and offers Left Eye, Right Eye, Center, or Anaglyph views in the Nitrous viewport. It also has in-scene 3D volumes to help with the adjustment of valid stereo zones, a Passive Stereo viewing mode, and an active stereo mode for users with a recent AMD FirePro graphics card and a supported HD3D Active Stereo monitor or equivalent.

Plugin News: Bullet4Max site goes live...
Stig Atle Steffensen is developing a new plugin that integrates Bullet physics into Max. He has put up a Bullet4Max website showing the current progress together with video previews of what is currently being worked on.
He plans on releasing the first version soon, and although there is no information on pricing yet, he says on the website that it won't be expensive.
