New Plugin: Animation

When using splines as paths, making one little change to the spline changes everything along the path. This is because splines work in percentages. But what if you could actively 'drive' the node along the spline, programming 'waypoints' to stop, slowdown, wait etc.

Craft Spline Speed-Controller does just that. If you change the length of the spline your 'waypoints' will stay in the same place. Each waypoint gives you the option of programming a speed change, a stop or a delay. This makes it very useful for animating things like traffic flow, or a camera dolly.

Craft Spline Speed Controller is available for Max 6 to 2008 and costs $395. A demo version is available here.

New Plugin: Utilities

NodeJoe is a schematic material editor realized as a plugin for Max that allows you a quick, clear and easy way of working with textures and materials. It uses Max internal data structures to provide compatibility with all materials and textures that work with Max.

The plugin provides an intuitive, clearly arranged graphical user interface to create, analyse and modify materials and textures within Max. The working area is zoomable and draggable, presenting an interactive preview of materials, including all submaterials and subtextures, as well as showing their dependencies between each other. You can create connections between different materials by 'drawing' directly onto the surface. The integrated automatic layout provides a clearly aligned diagram. Nodejoe gives you a clear overview of the relationship between existing materials within the current scene.

NodeJoe is available for Max 6 to 2008 and costs €289. A demo version is available here.
