Plugin Updates: Effectware recompiles...

EffectWare have recompiled a large number of their plugins for Max 6. You can find the plugins here.

Plugin Update: Import / Export

Changes for v1.0 beta1 are:
- Fixed horn parameter inheritance problem
- Separator implemented

Plugin Update: glu3D updated...

Changes for v1.1.38 beta are:
- Settle liquid function fixed
- Creation with button repaired
- It's now possible to launch mesh surface calculation while dynamic solver is working
- Repair surface function fixed
- Source placement is fixed
- Filling objects fixed in Max 6

Plugin Update: Import / Export

Changes for v1.7 are:
- Exporter now supports 'Export selected'
- Max 6 support

Plugin Update: Snaps

Changes for v1.01 are:
- Fixed Max shut down when [Create Line]

Plugin Update: Modelling

Changes for v2.61 are:
- Fixed problem with extra edges / vertices being created in Max 6. The 3 edge removal options in advanced settings now work correctly.
- Fixed a crash when in modifier mode and you undo the PwrBoolean creation.

Plugin Update: Utilities

Changes for v5.12 are:
- Adds support for Max 6

Polygon Cruncher is available for Max 3 to 6. It normally costs $109, but Mootools are running an offer until the end of the year for $87.

New Plugin: Snaps

This snap plugin implements shape object 2D-intersection snap ('ShapeIntersectXY'). This has a few restrictions:
- Snap evaluates lines projected on local XY plane of shape object
- The accuracy of snap point depends on [Interpolation] option of shape object
- You can't snap intersection across the another shape object.

Plugin News: glu3D open beta...

3D Aliens have started the open beta testing of their upcoming fluid simulation plugin glu3D.

glu3D is a complete plugin system that makes it easy to animate liquids in Max. Its main features are:
- Particle based dynamic engine that automatically animates liquids that interact with surrounding geometry
- Triangle mesh surface sequence is generated to visualize liquid surface
- Fully integrated in Max environment in order to simplify production workflow
- File cache system to store pre-calculated dynamics results
- Crowd object. A sample object is instanced at every particle position
- Motion blur
- Wet maps
- Texture mapping
- Arbitrary planar shapes as sources
- Fill objects function to speed up scene initial condition setup
- Friendly customizable UI full of shortcuts, menus and toolbar buttons

Paralelo Computação have updated all of their Fly3D import and export plugins to work with Release 2.08 of their Fly3D game engine. The SDK also now includes plugins for Max 6.

New Plugin: Controllers

Math Controller allows you to take another float controller as input and apply some basic math to it, like add, substract, multiply etc.
